Frequently asked questions

Why a subscription?

A subscription is the best choice for a tiny development team to support an app long-term. Retcon does not rely on investor money: it is fully funded by customers.

This allows Retcon to be actively developed (see its impressive update history on the releases page), and means our only incentive is making the app the very best it can be for its users.

What happens if my subscription expires?

Once your subscription expires, Retcon becomes read-only: you can no longer use it to rewrite history or create commits. You can still use it to browse your repositories.

Retcon does not lock your data in any way: your repositories and the data they contain are yours. After your subscription expires, you retain full access to them, and are free to open them in other tools.

Can I try Retcon for free?

Yes! Download Retcon now and use it for free for 14 days. The free trial is fully-featured, including the built-in test sandbox.

Can I get an education/NPO discount?

If you’re a student, or working in education or at an eligible non-profit organization, contact us with proof for a 50% discount on a yearly subscription.

Requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. NPOs must not be political organization, or promote discrimination of individuals.

What is your refund policy?

You can get a full refund on your yearly subscription for 30 days after purchasing. Just contact us with your details.

Before even subscribing, you can try Retcon for free for 14 days.

How easy is it to get support?

You can directly send us an email at any time. Your question might also answered in our quick guides.
